During their frequent mishaps, Mordecai and Rigby are joined by a rogue’s gallery of the quirky and the oddball including Benson, Pops, Muscle Man (all voiced by Sam Marin), Skips (Mark Hamill), Hi-Five Ghost (Quintel again), Margaret (Janie Haddad Tompkins) and Eileen (Minty Lewis). The simplest problems that befall this odd couple often lead to a surreal, extreme, and often supernatural series of misadventures. The former was one of the winners of the 2005 Nicktoons Film Festival and received international attention after being broadcast on Nicktoons Network.Ĭhannelling Ren & Stimpy and Beavis and Butt-head, via strange Brit comedies The Mighty Boosh and The League Of Gentlemen (both shows were a huge influence on Quinttel) Regular Show revolves around the lives of two working-class friends, a blue jay named Mordecai (creator Quintel) and a raccoon named Rigby (William Salyers) - both who work as groundskeepers at a local park. Quintel's student films The Naïve Man from Lolliland and 2 in the AM PM that he shot whilst at the California Institute of the Arts. Many of Regular Show's weird and wonderful characters were based on the show’s creator J. Winner of the 2012 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Short-Format Animated Program, Regular Show has gone from strength to strength, and garnered a host of nominations including BAFTA Kids' Vote for Television, proving that the Regular Show doesn’t live up to its moniker.
